† About
about meI am an advanced Web designer — which basically means that some of my greatest strengths lies with creating front end products like websites and user interface designs, print media products like: brouchures, pamphlets, business cards, flyers and graphic products like logos and book covers. Some of the tools I used to create these products are: Adobe Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator and Acrobat. Some other tools are Swishmax, Microsoft Expression Web and Visual studio. I also use XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML and other technologies to design websites.

I am also a Web developer — if I am not web designing, then I am developing websites/web applications. Essentially, on any given day I'll be playing with Microsoft SQL Server (esp. management studio) to create and manage databases or in Visual Studio writing scripts and/or source code to construct web, console and ever-so-often windows applications. I use these tools and others like MySql admin/query browser, MS Access, IIS and so on. I also use languages like SQL, ADO, ASP, JavaScript,VBScript, and C# (ASP.NET) to build web applications.

The conventional way in web design/development is that programmers stick with programming and designers stick with designing, which is fair enough depending on how you look at things. Some programmers would hate to spend their day creating a stretched layout in CSS, while some designers may quickly become frustrated over source code that doesn't compile, or here's a good one, normalizing data for a really messed up database that was created by the previous database developer. And then, there are those folks like me who has deep appreciation for the entire process so much so that I'm contented and happy working on any (if not all) parts of the web design or development process - from the blank (usually white) space upon which a UI is created to developing a robust database, to writing source code to achieve functionality behind my applications. I appreciate very much both processes and this is what separates me from most designers and developers. In addition, I am adaptable so I generally learn new technologies fairly easily.
